Miss LifeWalk is strutting down the runway this year, and honey, she’s never looked better! The glamorous younger sister of LifeWalk, the fabulous HIV/AIDS 5k walk we all know and love, has officially stepped out of the shadows and become the main event. This isn’t just a beauty pageant—it’s a fundraiser with flair, all in support of Prism Health North Texas (PHNTX), the 501(c)(3) healthcare organization making equitable healthcare a reality for all Texans.

Now, the stakes are high, darling! The winner of Miss LifeWalk doesn’t just walk away with a crown—they become the dazzling ambassador for PHNTX. This queen will be out there promoting safe sex, encouraging everyone to know their status, and serving up some realness about being PrEPared! The reigning Miss LifeWalk uses her platform not just for glamour but to advocate for uninsured and under-insured Texans, especially those living with HIV. It's not just about looking good—it's about doing good!

History

Although the event has evolved from its original 5K walk format, its essence and impact remain alive through LifeWalk in Dallas. Since its founding in 1991, the event has generated more than $14 million to help support this cause. Prism Health North Texas adapted to virtual happenings in 2020 and diversified into a series of events in the summers of 2021 and 2022. This new format aims to honor the enduring legacy of LifeWalk and the incredible advocates and supporters who have participated over the years.

Shifting away from the conventional 5K setup enables Prism Health North Texas to allocate a larger portion of the funds raised directly to its mission and services. So, if you want to help support a great cause in Dallas, here you go!

Hidden Door is one of the "hidden" gay dive bars catering to Dallas' more mature and sometimes bear-y scene. They host various events from leather nights to bear events on the calendar to keep things shaking. Crowd is usually 30s to 40s and up and has great drink specials in case that wallet needs a break. Dallas Woody's is a gay sports bar in Oak Lawn since 2004, offering music videos, theme nights, karaoke, trivia, and drag shows. It's a popular hang-out for locals who want a nice little sports bar with a decidedly gay twist. When not displaying sporting events, the venue's many video screens serve up a wide array of alluring video content, so enjoy!
