This year Dallas Pride will celebrate both the parade and its festivities in Fair Park, which is a National Historic Landmark that covers 277 acres east of downtown Dallas. The park is transformed into a lively rainbow carnival-like atmosphere, with vendors selling food, drinks, and LGBTQ+ merchandise, and various stages featuring live music, drag shows, and other wonderful performances.

Throughout the weekend, there are also a variety of educational and cultural events, such as panel discussions, film screenings, and art exhibits, that highlight the history and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community in Dallas.

History

The history of Dallas Pride can be traced back to 1972, when a group of activists organized a peaceful demonstration in front of the Dallas County Courthouse to protest against discrimination and inequality faced by the LGBTQ+ community. This event was the first-ever pride march in Texas, and it paved the way for the modern-day Dallas Pride.
