The annual event raises money for Food For Friends - a vital program of the NO/AIDS Task Force in NOLA. Come support a great cause and celebrate Easter with fellow members of the LGBTQ+ community in New Orleans. The party kicks off on Good Friday and the highlight of the event is the parade on Sunday of Easter.
People gather for the parade route winding its way through the vibrant heart of New Orleans, passing by every gay bar, and waltzing past many gay-owned restaurants and retail shops. It's a technicolor dream come true!
Let's kick off this fabulous weekend with a bang! Good Friday marks the beginning of our extravaganza with "Bunnies in the Big Easy." It's a gay soiree like no other, featuring live entertainment that'll have you groovin', an open bar that'll have you sippin', raffles that'll have you winning, and of course, a gaggle of bunny boys that'll have you swoonin'. Plus, it's all for a good cause—proceeds go towards The Official Gay Easter Parade and Food for Friends.
Now, let's talk about the main event—the Easter Sunday Parade! Participants riding horse-drawn carriages or floats, dressed to the nines in their most fabulous Easter outfits. Don't be surprised if you spot a pack of motorcycle dudes revving through the streets in leather and Easter bonnets! Spectators can expect to be showered with beads and other fabulous throws, so bring your best catchin' skills.
It kicks off at the iconic Armstrong Arch on St. Ann, then sashays down Bourbon Street, making its way across Esplanade. It continues its dazzling journey along Royal Street before turning onto St. Louis Street, finally culminating in a grand finale on Burgundy Street.
So, dust off your Easter bonnets, shine those shoes, and get ready to embrace the LGBTQ+ spirit of Easter in the most fabulous way possible. The Gay Easter Parade in New Orleans is an event you won't want to miss! Get ready to join the glittering celebration that will leave you feeling egg-static all weekend long.
