Thousands of LGBTQ+ pride-goers gather in downtown Oakland as a show of visibility and to advocate for equality. There's no better way to represent loudly and proudly - PRIDE is by the community and for the community!

Pride Festival & Parade - Sunday, September 7

Oakland Pride is coming in hot! Mark your calendars for Sunday, September 7th—because Broadway’s about to get a whole lot more queer! The Pride Parade kicks off at 11 am, sashaying down Broadway from 14th to 21st with floats, flags, fierce fashion, and enough glitter to make a disco ball jealous. And yes—it’s totally free and open to all!

The Festival turns up the volume right after from noon to 6 pm, right at 20th & Broadway. We’re talking 3 stages, Mainstage packed with iconic performances, a spicy Latin Stage powered by Club Papi & Que Rico, and a feel-good Community Stage spotlighting local legends It’s a full day of dancing, celebrating, and unapologetic joy. Oakland’s bringing the pride, the power, and the party!

All the Oakland queer bars & LGBTQ+ clubs will be throwing Pride events throughout the weekend, so pick your spot and let the good times roll! Below are some of our recommended spots:

Get ready to sip, play, and slay in Oakland’s hottest LGBTQ+ spots during Pride! The RIC is throwing it back to 1910 with their fun-loving crew, serving up crafty cocktails that’ll quench your thirst faster than you can say “bottoms up!” You can even channel your inner champion with board games or darts—just don’t poke anyone’s eye out, darling. This bar's crowd is a mixed bag, but they host plenty of gay and queer events. Pro tip: check their socials for the latest lineup, because every night has something different to offer.

Now, let’s talk about a true Oakland icon: White Horse Bar. This popular spot has been serving up LGBTQ+ realness since before we were born, and they’ve got the receipts to prove it. They boast they are the oldest running gay bar in the U.S., so White Horse is basically a historical landmark—but don’t let that fool you, because the drag shows, karaoke nights, and pool games are as lively as ever. No visit to Oakland is complete without a stop at this local gem!

Feeling fresh and ready to explore the scene? Head over to Summer Bar & Lounge, nestled in the heart of Old Town Oakland’s gay nightlife. It’s a newer player in the game but trust me, it’s quickly becoming the place to be. Cozy vibes, live music, drag queens stealing the show, and cheeky open mic sessions? Yes, please! The East Bay’s LGBTQ+ crowd flocks here for all the good times.

And last but definitely not least, you’ve got Fluid510, an LGBTQ+ lounge and restaurant that’s got the kind of ambiance that says “stay a while.” With mouthwatering cocktails, a fab happy hour, and a crowd mostly 30s and up, Fluid510’s newly renovated space offers an upscale vibe without losing the fun. Oakland Pride and Pridefest Oakland have joined forces to create a sponsorship of strength and respect while elevating our unified mission to celebrate and support the cultures and diversity of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer+ (LGBTQ+) community in Oakland and the surrounding Bay Area.Both of these organizations have cemented their sponsorship to provide unified support for each other, the LGBTQ+ community, and Oakland at-large so that every marginalized voice can be heard.Oakland Pride helps create a safe space to come home to. A sanctuary where you are protected, can be all you are without judgment and are embraced by your chosen queer family that is strong in numbers and a fierce force fueled by the Power of Pride!
