The Rainbow Visions Film Festival, (usually held in May) is your annual fixture of all things film and LGBTQ+ in Edmonton. The queer festival showcases up-and-coming artists who use film to highlight important narratives that are often lost in traditional media.

One of our faves is this 10-day event in August. Performing arts fans (and performers) flock to Edmonton's Strathcona neighborhood for North America's largest and oldest fringe theater festival.
Also typically held during August, bringing in the LGBTQ+ community from all over Canada and beyond. The Pride parade, which takes place in the heart of downtown Edmonton, is the highlight of the celebrations, bringing in thousands of people that line the streets, waving rainbow flags, and cheering for the Pride marchers.
Winter transforms Edmonton into a snowy wonderland, with the Silver Skate Festival (not queer but still fun!) bringing warmth to the cold months through its enchanting blend of art, culture, and sports. This is the longest-running winter festival in Edmonton.
In the heart of the city lies the iconic West Edmonton Mall, a marvel that redefines the concept of shopping centers.
