Pride Edinburgh promises to be a fabulous celebration of the LGBTQ+ community, celebrating every color of the rainbow. The event has a long and storied history dating back to the mid 1990s when the first pride march was held in Edinburgh. Since then, the event has grown in popularity and size, drawing crowds from across Scotland and beyond.

Pride Details

The Pride weekend Edinburgh festivities are set to take place in the heart of Edinburgh, with a wide range of activities and events planned to appeal to people of all ages and backgrounds. The highlight of the event is the parade itself, which will wind its way through the historic streets of Edinburgh. Expect to see rainbow galore, music, and dancing as people come together to celebrate their identities and celebrate the LGBTQ+ community. The parade will feature floats, banners, and costumes representing a diverse array of LGBTQ+ identities, as well as allies and supporters.

After the parade, the party continues at Teviot Row House and Potterrow Dome. Here, you'll find a range of stalls, food and drink vendors, and entertainment stages featuring a mix of local and international performers. There will be music, comedy, drag shows, and much more, all designed to celebrate the diversity and creativity of the LGBTQ+ community.

Edinburgh has a vibrant gay scene - the Pink Triangle - centered around the top of Leith Walk, right off Princes Street, where most of the venues are located.

There is only one gay sauna in the city - Steamworks for you adventurous patrons.

Festival - Saturday, June 22

The festival is on Saturday kicking off the events with the parade, and after the pride events begin at both Teviot House and Potterrow with a full program of entertainment including food vendors, live performances, family entertainment and the Scottish style of folk dancing - Cèilidh. Many of the city’s LGBTQ+ venues host special pride themed parties throughout the weekend of the pride around the Pink Triangle.

Pride Parade - Saturday, June 22

The parade route takes place south along Horse Wynd at noon, turning onto Queens Drive, then right into Holyrood, goes along Cowgate, turning left into Candlemaker Row, continuing on to Bristo Place, and finally ending at Teviot House and Potterrow. The festivities will continue here and LGBQT+ venues will keep the party going all night long. Get your rainbow kilts on and celebrate our community's pride!
