Florence Queer Festival Details

Cinema, theater, and art are all at the center of the Queer Festival in Florence. Every year the festival presents two lines of various competition and awards a cash prize for the winners. Cinema and video, theater and photography, literature and customs are at the center of the path that the FQF proposes to tell the story of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, trans and intersex universe , a queer identity in continuous movement that intends to overcome the stereotypes in which it is been forced for a long time.Since 2016 the festival has taken place inside the La Compagnia cinema, the focal point of the city's cultural activity. The cinema is home to the most renowned festivals in Florence, and in addition to the FQF it hosts, among others, the Festival dei Popoli and the France Odeon, Lo Schermo dell'Arte, Middle East Now, River to River Indian Film Festival and the Festival Internazionale of Cinema and Women.

Over the years, the event has welcomed prestigious guests such as Drusilla Foer , Lindsey Kemp, Zanelle Muoli, Ivan Cattaneo, Fabio Canino, Veronica Pivetti, Vladimir Luxuria, Eva Robins, Federico Sacchi, Pirò Pelù and Eytan Fox.
