Pride Calgary

Project Pride Calgary (PPC) formed in 1987, created the first LGBTQ+ groups and paved the way for the current Calgary Pride. Celebrate with over 100,000 fellow pride-goers to show off the LGBTQ+ community’s love, hope and unity in one of Calgary's biggest events. There's no better place to show up and show out - diversity, inclusivity and equality are what pride is all about.

Festival

Come join a week full of festivities around Calgary to celebrate gay pride! The mainstays of the events are located around the downtown area, especially around the popular Beltline area.

The festival itself will be held on the weekend in Prince's Island Park. Whether you want to enjoy the socials, workshops, parties or just want to have some fun around Calgary, this is one festival you don't want to miss.

Pride Parade

Calgary's Pride Parade begins downtown and travels through the Beltline neighborhood along 9th Avenue, starting at 6th Street SW and finishing its route in East Village.

The festivities then continue in Prince's Island Park afterwards for an amazing fun-filled day to close out the fabulous weekend of celebrations for our community.

So, don all the rainbow apparel you have and be proud to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.

Pride Details

Pride weekend Calgary is set to be the most colorful and inclusive celebration of LGBTQ+ culture in Western Canada! This year's festivities promises to be a jam-packed schedule of events and activities that will bring together people from all walks of life.

Throughout the week, Calgary will be transformed into a playground of pride, with events ranging from drag shows and cabarets to film screenings, youth events and community workshops. The big highlight of the week is of course, the Calgary Pride Parade!

There will be a dazzling display of floats, music, and costumes that winds its way through the heart of downtown Calgary and the majority of festivities are held in Prince's Island Park. Spectators can expect to see everything from rainbow-clad dancers to giant inflatable unicorns, all celebrating the diversity and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.

Prince Island's Park is one of Calgary's beautiful parks, where the festival will feature live music, food trucks, and games for all ages.

And if you're feeling adventurous, why not try your hand at the Pride 5K, a fun run that winds its way through the city's streets, with participants dressed in their most colorful and creative outfits before the parade.

Of course, no pride would be complete without some fun celebrations and night-time partying, and Calgary Pride has got you covered.
