Brisbane Pride 2025 Details

Brisbane Pride is the heart of LGBTQ+ celebration in Queensland, radiating with rainbow energy and unbreakable community spirit in Brisbane. Brisbane Pride Festival is a jam-packed, month-long celebration of Queensland’s LGBTQ+ community. Since its origins in the 90s, it has become known as Queensland’s premier festival for people of diverse gender and sexualities. The festival begins in early September with the Brisbane Pride Festival Launch Day and finishes in the final week of the month with the annual Tennis Open Day. Below are the highlights of Pride on September 20, 2025, when Pride is at its finest.

Rally & March

The day kicks off with the Rally & March, starting at the iconic Queens Gardens Park, where the corner of William and Elizabeth Streets transforms into a powerful gathering space. Here, attendees come together to listen, learn, and spark change, setting the tone for an unforgettable day. As the march begins, the Dykes on Bikes lead the way with their roaring engines, followed by the historic Gilbert Baker Memorial Rainbow Flag, fluttering proudly in the Brisbane breeze. The parade is a spectacular display of unity, with community groups, allies, and colorful floats parading through the city streets, accompanied by dynamic performances that echo the pride and resilience of the LGBTQ+ community.

The march isn't just a visual feast; it's a powerful platform for voices to be heard. Expect to be moved by inspiring speeches from LGBTQ+ activists and allies, personal stories that resonate with the struggles and triumphs of the community, and updates on the ongoing fight for equality. A poignant moment of silence is observed to honor those we've lost, adding depth to the celebration and reminding everyone of the importance of continued activism.

Fair Day

After the march, the festivities shift to Musgrave Park in South Brisbane for Fair Day, the pinnacle event of the Brisbane Pride Festival. From 10 am to 5 pm, Fair Day is a full-spectrum celebration of LGBTQ+ culture and community. The park buzzes with live performances from headlining acts, local LGBTQ+ musicians, and bands that get the crowd moving. Drag shows dazzle with their flair and creativity, while dance troupes bring the energy with performances that celebrate diversity through movement.

The Rainbow Markets are where vendors offer an array of stalls selling crafts, fashion, and LGBTQ+ merchandise. Whether you're on the hunt for a unique piece of jewelry or just want to browse the eclectic offerings, the markets have something for everyone. And of course, the food vendors provide a delectable spread of options, catering to most tastes and dietary preferences, ensuring no one leaves hungry.

How To Get To Pride

Getting to Brisbane Pride is a breeze, with multiple transport options available. Buses stop conveniently close to Queens Gardens Park at George St 115, William St nr Elizabeth St 103, and Elizabeth St Stop 81. For those arriving by train, Central Station is just a 10-15 minute walk away.

The City Hopper ferry service also offers a scenic route, stopping at the nearby North Quay Ferry Terminal. While driving is an option, parking in the CBD is limited, and with some streets closed for the march, public transport or ride-sharing services are highly recommended.

Bottom Line

Brisbane Pride is more than just a day of events; it's a celebration of identity, community, and the ongoing fight for equality. Whether you're there to march, dance, or simply soak in the atmosphere, it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression, embodying the spirit of Pride in every sense.
