The weekend kicks off with a lively street festival that spans several blocks in the Uptown area , featuring a wide range of food, drinks, and vendor booths selling everything from handmade crafts to LGBTQ+ pride merchandise. Plus, the main stage at the festival will feature some of the biggest names in music and entertainment, along with rising stars and local talent.

The Charlotte Pride Festival & Parade is the annual celebration of the LGBTQ+ community held in the heart of Uptown on Tryon Street. The exact route changes yearly, but is always held in the Uptown area. The festival runs over both Saturday and Sunday, featuring a gay village complete with food trucks, beer stands and a huge stage with live performances throughout the evenings. The majority of the festival takes place on South Tryon Street, between 3rd Street and the Levine Avenue of the Arts. The after-parties and club events will be held around the Noda neighborhood.
The Charlotte Pride Parade kicks off a little after midday, going down Tryon Street. The parade is made up of a mixture of elaborate floats, featuring dozens of groups and individuals dressed up in elaborate costumes. The event is open to everyone in the LGBTQ+ community and allies, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The parade traditionally stops off around Tryon Street near 4th Street, with the festival ensuing after (The route sometimes varies, so check their site for most up-to-date route).
