History of CBP

The history of Charlotte Black Pride can be traced back to the early 2000s, when a group of LGBTQ+ activists recognized the need for a safe and inclusive space for Black queer people in the city. They organized the first Charlotte Black Pride in 2005, which was attended by just a few hundred people. However, over the years, the event has grown to become a major cultural and social gathering, attracting thousands of attendees from all over the country.
