In 2025, Washington, DC will mark a historic milestone—50 years of Pride celebrations! As the host of WorldPride 2025, the Capital Pride Alliance invites the global LGBTQ+ community to come together for an unforgettable celebration in the heart of the nation’s capital.

Festival - May 17 - June 8

There will be a spectacular lineup of events, cultural programs, and fun festivities that showcase the best of Washington DC. From electrifying music and film showcases to iconic landmarks like the National Mall and Embassy Row, WorldPride DC 2025 will be a dynamic fusion of history, culture, and pride. The main Pride weekend events will be held from June 6 - 8, with the famous DC Block Party!

World Pride Parade 2025 - Saturday, June 7

The Pride Parade will be held on June 7th, stepping off at 1 pm from 14th Street and T Street, NW.

This year the iconic Capital Pride Parade will evolve into the WorldPride Parade, a powerful tribute to the historic Pride movement. This beloved tradition not only celebrates our past but also honors the growth and resilience of LGBTQ+ neighborhoods in Washington, DC. As we take to the streets, we remember the roots of our fight for equality while embracing the progress we’ve made. Join us in this momentous march as we stand proud, visible, and united!

History of Pride

Since its inception in 1975, the Capital Pride Parade has evolved into an extravagant extravaganza that not only commemorates the LGBTQ+ community but also symbolizes the incredible progress made in the fight for equality and acceptance. This annual extravaganza, held in the month of June to honor the historic Stonewall riots, transforms the streets of the nation's capital into a pulsating artery of love, pride, and sheer unadulterated joy.
