Austin Pride is back for another year of fantastic events, hosting a series of parties, workshops and one amazing parade.

Austin’s Pride began in 1990 at Fiesta Gardens, but its LGBTQ+ communities have been making and defending queer spaces for more than 50 years. In 1970, following the Stonewall Riots in New York City, several local lesbian and gay rights groups were formed and continued to the fight for rights until the present day, which is why pride is so important! So, come be a part of Austin Pride to show off our community’s love, diversity, and of course, our commitment to having a fabulous time.

Event Details

This year's event promises to be the biggest and most colorful one yet (over 400,000 attendees), with a wide range of exciting activities and performances lined up within the bustling streets of Austin.

As you approach the event grounds, the first thing you'll notice is the vibrant atmosphere. The air is filled with the sound of upbeat music, laughter, and cheers, as people from all walks of life come together to celebrate love and diversity. You'll see rainbow-colored flags and banners flying high, and the streets are lined with food trucks, merchandise stalls, and other vendors.

As you enter the event grounds, you'll be greeted by a sea of smiling faces and welcoming arms. The event organizers go all out every year, and the venue is packed with exciting activities and performances for all ages. From dance contests and karaoke sessions to drag shows and comedy performances, there's never a dull moment at Austin Pride!

Highlight

One of the highlights of this year's event is the parade, which winds its way through the streets of downtown Austin. The parade features a dazzling array of floats, costumes, and performers, all decked out in rainbow-colored regalia. You'll see everything from drag performers and dancers to marching bands and acrobats, all coming together to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.

Festivities

After the parade, the festivities continue back at the event grounds. You can grab a bite to eat from one of the many food trucks, or check out the merchandise stalls for some unique and colorful souvenirs. If you're feeling adventurous, you can even take part in one of the many games and activities that consist throughout the day of fun!

As the sun begins to set, the party heats up even more! The event organizers have brought in some of the hottest DJs and performers in the country to keep the energy high, and the dance floor is packed with people grooving to the beat. You'll see plenty of wild and creative outfits, from drag performers in towering heels to club kids in neon spandex.

Why Go

But Austin Pride is not just about partying and having fun - it's also about raising awareness and promoting equality, which so many before have fought for our community. Throughout the event, you'll find booths and information sessions dedicated to LGBTQ+ rights, health, and advocacy. You can learn more about the issues facing the community, and find out how you can get involved and make a difference.

Austin Pride promises to be an unforgettable experience that celebrates love, diversity, and equality. Whether you're a member of the LGBTQ+ community or just an amazing ally and supporter, you're sure to have a blast at this fun and inclusive event! Can't wait to see you in the streets of the "Blueberry in the Red State."
